Animation

The dictionary defines animation as the state of being alive, associated with glow and vigour. But in the technological aspect, animation is the display of several images that are in order or sequence, in a speedy manner. These illustrations are in the form of 2-D or 3-D artwork. The target of animation is to generate an optical illusion of movement for the audience. Motion picture or the so called video program is the mainstream mode of animation presentation. Other techniques include the traditional animation, stop motion, computer animation, drawn on film animation, paint on glass animation, pin screen and sand animation.
