Body Art

The human body is quite a complicated machine yet a piece of art itself. Body art is dominant to tribal people all around the globe. The Africans are examples to this type of art. Tattoos and piercings are the usual manifestations of body art although there are still several forms that are known to humans especially with the advent of technological enhancements. At present, scalpelling, body painting and branding are also becoming common to artists.

Body art is also a reflection of cultural beliefs and an expression of celebration especially for patron saints. Commercialism has also influenced body art heavily.
