Burlesque
This is a specific type of theatrical entertainment that focuses on humour. The audience identifies with the actors or actresses because they depict through their gestures similar situations found in everyday life. This form of performance art is further characterised by artistic nudity with the performers in various stages of undress. This is accomplished through a comic skit combined with a funny dialogue and most often a strip tease woven into the story. Burlesque is an intentional parody of someone or something that evokes comic relief. In short, it is just an imitation of something that is a serious topic but given a new twist that makes people laugh.
