Art is described as the expression of oneself. More often, art is deemed to be the historical basis of every country as history are expressed in the form of art. The visual configuration of every country may be a result of the various conglomeration and influences brought by colonial invasion of the early times. However, one thing remains certain; art would always be the special matter that resulted from the creative realm of the human mind.

The history of art suggests that visual art originated when the early civilizations have learned and developed a written form of communication. From then on, art has started to be a medium of communicating and expressing one’s ideas.

The traditions of visual art have rooted a great foundation in these great and powerful countries, namely, Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, India and China. In the early times, these countries were hailed as the centre of the artistic revolution, even up to now. Egypt and Mesopotamia are known for its hieroglyphic art, Greece and Rome are famous for its artistic depiction of the gods and goddesses, while, India and China are known for their famous art giving a picture of life and its nature. Each has developed a unique and distinct style and character.
