Performance Animation
This is another term for traditional puppetry. In this case, puppets made from wood, paper or cloth are manipulated by the puppeteer through the use of his hands, sticks and strings. Puppetry is very ideal for young kids who love to watch their favourite characters act out on a small stage made out of cardboard box. Before the advent of other entertainment forms such as television, video games and the Internet, puppetry was a major source of enjoyment for young children. Puppetry requires skill and practice since manipulating the puppets using strings and sticks to make movements appear natural and not jerky can be quite difficult. The modern version is digital animation using keyboard, mouse and tablets.
