The term originates from the French Photographie derived from the Greek word phos (light), graphis (stylus) and graphe (paintbrush) depictions through lines or drawing- drawing with light. The camera is the best tool to serve this process. Whether antique or modern digital, its composition still includes a lens, a dark box and film. It is the photographer’s best friend.
