Storytelling
Since a story is a narrative account of an event whether real or imaginary, a storyteller uses the power of language, vocalisation, facial expressions and gestures or movements to impart to the live audience the elements of a story. Storytellers rely on the audience to make the story complete in their minds through the use of visual imagery. In effect, storytelling is the live verbal person-to-person transmission of an event and uses non-verbal audience feedback to adjust the tone, wording and pacing of the storytelling experience. It is thought to be an interactive art form because the audience responds to the teller’s voice and gestures who does not even use any stage props or sets or wear any costumes to deliver its meaning.
